Tuliposide B-converting enzyme
Definition:
EC Tree > 4 Lyases > 4.2 Carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.99 Other carbon-oxygen lyases > 4.2.99.23 tuliposide B-converting enzyme
Tuliposide B-converting enzyme from Tulipa gesneriana pollen catalyzes intramolecular transesterification of 6-tuliposide B into the antibiotic aglycon tulipalin B plus D-glucose as sole product; it does not hydrolyze 6-tuliposide B to a hydroxy acid and has marginal activity with 6-tuliposide A (cf. EC 4.2.99.22). Structurally it is a plant esterase.
