UMP kinase
Definition:

UMP kinase is the prokaryotic pyrimidine-salvage/de novo UTP-biosynthesis kinase. It is strictly specific for UMP and phosphorylates it to UDP, releasing ADP; it is feedback-inhibited by UTP and activated by GTP. Unlike eukaryotes that use dual-specificity UMP/CMP kinase EC 2.7.4.14, prokaryotes use this enzyme. It occurs in viruses and cellular organisms.
