Viomycin kinase is an antibiotic-resistance aminoglycoside kinase. It phosphorylates viomycin (and capreomycins) on a serine residue of the peptide antibiotic, releasing ADP and O-phosphoviomycin, inactivating the tuberactinomycin anti-TB drug. It occurs in viruses and cellular organisms.
