Xaa-Arg dipeptidase is a dipeptidase widely distributed in mammals that preferentially hydrolyses Xaa-Arg, Xaa-Lys or Xaa-ornithine dipeptides. By digesting basic C-terminal dipeptides it participates in renal and intestinal amino-acid reabsorption. It is taxonomically restricted to Chordata.
