XTP/dITP diphosphatase
Definition:
EC Tree > 3 Hydrolases > 3.6 Acting on acid anhydrides > 3.6.1 In phosphorus-containing anhydrides > 3.6.1.66 XTP/dITP diphosphatase
XTP/dITP diphosphatase is a Nudix hydrolase characterized from Escherichia coli, the archaeon Methanococcus jannaschii and Archaeoglobus fulgidus, found in viruses and cellular organisms, highly specific for XTP, dITP and ITP and dependent on divalent cations, Mg2+ preferred. It hydrolyzes dITP into dIMP and diphosphate, and XTP into XMP and diphosphate. In cells it sanitizes non-canonical triphosphates. It requires Mg2+.
