Biological Activity: WX-02-16 is a BAX inhibitor. WX-02-16 covalently and stereoselectively modifies BAX C126, restricting BAX conformational dynamics and blocking BAX activation and mitochondrial cytochrome c release. WX-02-16 protects Bak-deficient cells from apoptosis (apoptosis). WX-02-16 protects primary sensory neurons from apoptosis, improving survival and reducing caspase-3/7 activity. WX-02-16 can be used in research on various diseases and injuries triggered by BAX-dependent cell death[1].
