Biological Activity: 8-epi-Meropenem (JDB-1-200) is a Meropenem (HY-13678) derivative with antibacterial activity. 8-epi-Meropenem is an inhibitor of KPC-2 (IC50 210 nM) and CTX-M-15 (IC50 215 nM). 8-epi-Meropenem also acts on bacterial PBPs to interfere with peptidoglycan synthesis. 8-epi-Meropenem has in vitro activity against KPC-producing Enterobacterales, exhibits strain-dependent activity against Acinetobacter baumannii, and has reduced activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 8-epi-Meropenem can be used for research related to bacterial infections[1].
