Biological Activity: γ-Linolenic acid ethyl ester (Ethyl γ-linolenate) is a polyunsaturated C18 fatty acid ethyl ester, and also serves as an acyl donor in lipase-catalyzed glycerolysis reactions. γ-Linolenic acid ethyl ester undergoes glycerolysis catalyzed by the ring-substituted Candida antarctica lipase B mutant (cp283) and wild-type Candida antarctica lipase B. γ-Linolenic acid ethyl ester can be used to support the production of triglycerides required in the pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical fields[1].
