Biological Activity: (+)-Butaclamol hydrochloride ((+)-AY-23,028; d-Butaclamol hydrochloride) is a dopamine receptor antagonist that blocks D2 and D1 receptors. (+)-Butaclamol hydrochloride antagonizes Dopamine (HY-B0451)-induced relaxation with a KB of 2 nM-0.17 µM and a Ki of 0.19-0.37 µM. (+)-Butaclamol hydrochloride inhibits adenylyl cyclase-coupled dopamine receptors, displaces striatal D2 radioligand binding, and acts as a non-selective D2 antagonist to retain D1-NLS and D1-D2 hetero-oligomers on the cell surface. (+)-Butaclamol hydrochloride inhibits the rewarding effects and self-administration behavior of dopaminergic agonists. (+)-Butaclamol hydrochloride can be used in research related to schizophrenia[1][2][3][4][5].
