Biological Activity: (+)-Butaclamol ((+)-AY-23,028 free base; d-Butaclamol) is a dopamine receptor antagonist that blocks D2 and D1 receptors. (+)-Butaclamol antagonizes Dopamine (HY-B0451)-induced relaxation with a KB of 2 nM-0.17 µM and a Ki of 0.19-0.37 µM. (+)-Butaclamol inhibits adenylyl cyclase-coupled dopamine receptors, displaces striatal D2 radioligand binding, and acts as a non-selective D2 antagonist to retain D1-NLS and D1-D2 hetero-oligomers on the cell surface. (+)-Butaclamol inhibits the rewarding effects and self-administration behavior of dopaminergic agonists. (+)-Butaclamol can be used in research related to schizophrenia[1][2][3][4][5].
