Cys-Gly-3M3SH
Cys-Gly-3M3SH is an odorless thiol precursor dipeptide and the major secreted precursor of the human axillary odorant 3M3SH, which forms thiol body odor after biotransformation by the skin microbiota. Cys-Gly-3M3SH is biotransformed into 3M3SH by certain staphylococci. Cys-Gly-3M3SH is actively taken up by bacteria via a secondary transport system dependent on the proton motive force. Cys-Gly-3M3SH is used in research related to osmidrosis and skin diseases.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Cys-Gly-3M3SH biotransformation by Staphylococcus hominis and Staphylococcus haemolyticus G431 is inhibited by CCCP (HY-100941) and Sodium Orthovanadate (HY-D0852), indicating that active transport of Cys-Gly-3M3SH is required for 3M3SH production[2].
Cys-Gly-3M3SH (0.5-1 mM; 5 min) is hydrolyzed by purified recombinant TpdA with a Km of 0.045 mM and a Vmax of 0.023 mmol/min/mg, indicating its high affinity for the physiological substrate[1].
