Dodecamethylpentasiloxane exhibits the strongest activity among the tested oils (including silicone oils and essential oils) against bed bugs.

Description
In Vivo
Dodecamethylpentasiloxane (0.02-0.1 mg per bug; Topical; single application) has an LD50 of approximately 0.038 mg per bug (95% CI 0.032-0.043) against adult bed bugs[2].

Result:At 0.1 mg per bug, dodecamethylpentasiloxane caused 100% mortality at 3 d after topical application.
Its mean rank score for toxicity among all oils was 83.0.
At 0.04 mg per bug, silicone oil 1 (dodecamethylpentasiloxane) caused 65% mortality.
