Herbicidal agent 18
Herbicidal agent 18 is a Herbicide. Herbicidal agent 18 binds AFB5 and enhances the AFB5-IAA interaction (Kd = 0.97 μM). Herbicidal agent 18 induces the transcription of auxin-related genes AUX1, GH3.3, and IAA5 in Arabidopsis. Herbicidal agent 18 induces root shortening, leaf curling, wilting, and plant death.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Herbicidal agent 18 (0.1 ppm (A. thaliana); 1 ppm (A. theophrasti); 200 ppm (E. crus-galli); 7-14 days) inhibits A. thaliana growth by 94.9% at 0.1 ppm and produces auxin-like root and foliar symptoms[1].
Herbicidal agent 18 (3.75-7.5 g ai/ha (weed control); 30 g ai/ha (crop safety)) maintains over 80% control of five weed species at 3.75 g ai/ha and is selective for rice, wheat, and corn at 30 g ai/ha[1].
Herbicidal agent 18 (12-24 h) increases expression of the auxin-related genes AUX1, GH3.3, and IAA5 in A. thaliana seedlings at 12 and 24 h[1].
Herbicidal agent 18 is nonmutagenic in Salmonella typhimurium TA98, TA100, TA1535 and Escherichia coli WP2 uvrA (pKM101)[1].
