Peptide P1
Peptide P1 is a histidine- and isoleucine-rich peptide segment (HHHHHHIIKIIK). Peptide P1 undergoes gas-phase proton exchange with co-infused bulk solvent in the StepWave ion guide, manifesting as deuterium loss and peak broadening of the deuterated peptide envelope, which can be mitigated by adjusting the StepWave settings. Peptide P1 is commonly used as an ETD scrambling standard and as a synthetic infusion peptide standard for H/D exchange mass spectrometry.
