Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human is an endogenous appetite-suppressing peptide that acts as a selective agonist of neuropeptide Y (NPY) Y2 receptor. Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human inhibits intestinal fluid secretion, colonic propulsion, and reduces fecal output in mouse models. Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human inhibits dmPGE2-, 5HT (HY-B1473A)-, and Castor oil (HY-107799)-induced diarrhea in mice. Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human improves metabolic parameters and mitochondrial function in obese rat MASLD models. Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human can be used for research on intestinal diseases such as diarrhea and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.

In Vivo
Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human (1 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) significantly blocks dmPGE2-induced intestinal fluid accumulation in mice[1].
Peptide YY (PYY) (3-36), Human (0.01-1 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) dose-dependently reduces normal fecal output in mice and increases colonic bead expulsion time in mice, indicating inhibition of colonic propulsion[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Reduced the HOMA index vs.
MASLD.
Exhibited a significant reduction in mitochondrial O2 consumption compared with MASLD (state 3 with 1 mM ADP), rescuing consumption levels to those of healthy controls.
Demonstrated a significant reduction in respiration rate in the FA state 3u (uncoupled state with DNP).
Significantly reduced MCAD and PPAR protein expression compared with MASLD.
Restored PPAR levels.
Significantly reduced Ndufb8 and elevated MTCO1 in isolated hepatic mitochondria compared with MASLD.
Led to a significant reduction of TNF-α mRNA expression.
Significantly lowered IL-1β mRNA expression compared with MASLD.
