Polyethylene glycol monooctyl ether
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Polyethylene glycol monooctyl ether (n-Octyl-oligo-oxyethylene) is a nonionic detergent and separating agent. Polyethylene glycol monooctyl ether is commonly used as a reagent for solubilization and stabilization of membrane proteins, a mild detergent for cell lysis, a component of ELISA blocking agents, and an additive for protein refolding.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Polyethylene glycol monooctyl ether dissociates hydrophobic IpaC from the Shigella IpaC/IpgC chaperone-binding complex, maintains IpaC in its monomeric form, and preserves the membrane-binding and lytic properties of IpaC[1].
