PPO-IN-28
PPO-IN-28 is a protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase (PPO) inhibitor with a Ki of 15.6 nM against Nicotiana tabacum PPO. PPO-IN-28 binds to the PPO active site and blocks the catalytic conversion of protoporphyrinogen IX to protoporphyrin IX, leading to accumulation of protoporphyrinogen IX and reactive oxygen species-mediated membrane lipid peroxidation. PPO-IN-28 exhibits broad-spectrum post-emergence herbicidal activity against various weed species. PPO-IN-28 shows favorable crop safety in crops such as corn and wheat. PPO-IN-28 can be used in research related to plant herbicides.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
PPO-IN-28 (9.375-150 g a.i./ha) exhibits strong post-emergence herbicidal activity against six weeds, and completely inhibits P. oleracea and A. juncea even at low concentrations[1].
PPO-IN-28 (75-150 g a.i./ha) exhibits broad-spectrum herbicidal activity and completely inhibits 17 weed species at high concentrations[1].
PPO-IN-28 (75-150 g a.i./ha; 25 days) has good crop safety, causing 10-20% phytotoxicity to peanuts and soybeans[1].
