(Z)-Styryl latrepirdine
(Z)-Styryl latrepirdine is a blocker of serotonin, adrenergic, and histamine receptor signaling. (Z)-Styryl latrepirdine blocks signaling mediated by serotonin 5-HT7, 5-HT6, 5-HT2C receptors and adrenergic α2A receptors. (Z)-Styryl latrepirdine blocks histamine H1 receptor-mediated calcium mobilization.

In Vitro
(Z)-Styryl latrepirdine (15-20 s before histamine (phase 1); 20-30 s after histamine (phase 2)) blocks histamine H1 receptor-mediated calcium mobilization in SK-N-SH cells, with IC50 values of 0.07 µM and 0.04 µM in phase 1 and IC50 values of 0.154 µM and 0.146 µM in phase 2[1].
