Abz-LVEALYQ-EDDnp
Abz-LVEALYQ-EDDnp is a fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) oligopeptide substrate containing a peptide bond that is specifically recognized and cleaved by snake venom metalloproteinases (SVMP). Abz-LVEALYQ-EDDnp is specifically hydrolyzed by SVMP, resulting in the physical separation of the Abz fluorophore and the EDDnp quencher, which relieves the quenching effect and releases a detectable fluorescent signal.. Abz-LVEALYQ-EDDnp is used for research on inflammatory pain and antivenom (Ex/Em = 320-340/420-440 nm).

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Abz-LVEALYQ-EDDnp (47 mM; 30 min) is a low-molecular-weight FRET substrate that directly interacts with the active-site cleft of Atroxlysin-I and is not completely protected from hydrolysis by antibodies targeting regions distant from the catalytic site[2].
Abz-LVEALYQ-EDDnp is incubated with Atr-I in a cell-free system to detect the neutralizing protective effect of anti-CPEN and anti-CNEN mouse serum[3].
Abz-LVEALYQ-EDDnp (30 min) is hydrolyzed by five different Bothrops snake venoms in a cell-free system to quantify the metalloproteinase (SVMP) activity of these venoms[5].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
