Ascorutin
Ascorutin (Rutascorbin) is an orally effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent composed of a combination of ascorbic acid and rutin. Ascorutin, based on the synergistic action of ascorbic acid and rutin, comprehensively enhances and regulates local and systemic immune function by reducing oxidative stress, modulating calcium-phosphorus metabolism, and inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators. Ascorutin can be used in the study of periodontitis.

In Vivo
Ascorutin (12.4 mg/kg; 15 days) reduces serum ceruloplasmin activity in rats with experimental periodontitis, decreasing to 382.30 mg/L by day 15[2].
