Chemical Structure
MOA-stilbene
- CAS No.: 103455-29-4
- Formula:C19H18O3
- Molecular Weight:294.34
InChIKey: VEJCBCPEURAYAS-MEAXDALNSA-N
SMILES: COC(/C(C1=C(C=CC=C1)/C=C/C2=CC=CC=C2)=C/OC)=O
Biological Activity: MOA-stilbene is an inhibitor targeting mitochondrial complex III, with fungicidal and insecticidal activities. MOA-stilbene binds to the Qo center of cytochrome b (i.e., the ubiquinol oxidation site, center o), blocking electron transport and inhibiting mitochondrial cellular respiration, thereby reducing the production of reactive oxygen species. MOA-stilbene binds to the Qi center of the chloroplast b6f-complex, inhibiting the reoxidation of reduced bH and bL hemes, the reverse electron transfer from cytochrome c + c1 and ISP to bH and bL, and the electron transfer from bH to bL[1][2][3].
