MOA-stilbene
MOA-stilbene is an inhibitor targeting mitochondrial complex III, with fungicidal and insecticidal activities. MOA-stilbene binds to the Qo center of cytochrome b (i.e., the ubiquinol oxidation site, center o), blocking electron transport and inhibiting mitochondrial cellular respiration, thereby reducing the production of reactive oxygen species. MOA-stilbene binds to the Qi center of the chloroplast b6f-complex, inhibiting the reoxidation of reduced bH and bL hemes, the reverse electron transfer from cytochrome c + c1 and ISP to bH and bL, and the electron transfer from bH to bL.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
In bovine SMP, MOA-stilbene (5 mM) in combination with antimycin causes less inhibition of succinate-induced b heme reduction than the combination of antimycin and myxothiazol[3].
