Biological Activity: PI-16 is a selective uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase (UROD) inhibitor with an IC50 of 9.9 µM against human UROD. PI-16 inhibits the heme biosynthesis enzyme that converts uroporphyrinogen to coproporphyrinogen. PI-16 selectively reduces the viability of hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and cervical cancer cells. PI-16 can be used in combination with Cisplatin (HY-17394), with synergistic effects observed in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma cells. PI-16 can be used in research related to hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and cervical cancer[1].
