PI-16
PI-16 is a selective uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase (UROD) inhibitor with an IC50 of 9.9 µM against human UROD. PI-16 inhibits the heme biosynthesis enzyme that converts uroporphyrinogen to coproporphyrinogen. PI-16 selectively reduces the viability of hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and cervical cancer cells. PI-16 can be used in combination with Cisplatin (HY-17394), with synergistic effects observed in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma cells. PI-16 can be used in research related to hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and cervical cancer.

In Vitro
PI-16 (24 h) combined with cisplatin is potently synergistic in FaDu cells (CI<1), and PI-16 with radiation or cisplatin shows at-least-additive/more-than-additive effects in FaDu and ME-180 clonogenic assays[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
