Biological Activity: Pyrrolidone 1 is a selective 14-3-3/PMA2 protein-protein interaction stabilizer with a Kd of 80 μM. Pyrrolidone 1 binds to the 14-3-3/PMA2 interface and stabilizes the protein-protein complex, thereby activating the PMA2 proton pump. Pyrrolidone 1 induces stomatal opening in isolated Commelina communis leaves. Pyrrolidone 1 can be used in research related to diseases mediated by 14-3-3-mediated protein-protein interactions[1].
