Biological Activity: cyclo-pAKKR is a mimetic of the BDNF-binding region of p75NTR and a p75NTR agonist. cyclo-pAKKR promotes peripheral neuron survival and peripheral nerve myelination. cyclo-pAKKR, through a p75NTR-dependent signaling pathway, alleviates demyelination and axonal pathological damage, improves motor function performance in the experimental autoimmune neuritis (EAN) model, whereas a control peptide with an altered spatial conformation of the KKR motif does not produce such biological effects. cyclo-pAKKR can be used for research related to autoimmune neuritis[1].
