Biological Activity: Polysuccinimide is a polyimide precursor. Polysuccinimide can hydrolyze to polyaspartic acid (PASP), which has good biocompatibility and low toxicity. PASP can chelate Ca2+ and iron ions, exerting effects of inhibiting vascular calcification and scavenging ROS. Polysuccinimide is commonly used for enzyme immobilization and as a carrier for hydrophobic payloads, and its composites can impart antibacterial or wound-healing-promoting functions. Polysuccinimide can be used in research on cancer and chronic kidney disease-related vascular calcification[1][2][3][4][5].
