Coppersensor-3
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Coppersensor-3 is a Cu (I)-selective fluorescent probe, λabs 540 nm, λem 548 nm. Coppersensor-3 detects basal levels of labile Cu (I) in living cells and produces fluorescence turn-on by inhibiting photoinduced electron transfer. Coppersensor-3 is useful for studies related to copper homeostasis and copper transport.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Coppersensor-3 reversibly senses Cu (I) in the presence of GSH, BSA, and DMPC, while maintaining Cu (I) responsiveness over the pH range of 3-8[1].
Coppersensor-3 enables screening for ATP7B-dependent lysosomal copper import in hepatocytes[1].
Coppersensor-3 detects copper hyperaccumulation in zinc-deficient Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and requires CRR1[1].
Coppersensor-3 detects basal labile Cu (I) in HEK293T cells and reports copper that is depletable by BCS; imaging results report KCl depolarization-induced, calcium-dependent copper transport from the soma to dendritic processes of rat hippocampal neurons; reveals copper-rich endosomal compartments in CTR2−/− mouse fibroblasts, whose number is reduced by CTR1 truncation; detects changes in copper status in human epithelial cell types and is unaffected by cisplatin[1][2].
Coppersensor-3 (CS3) (2 μM) exhibits time-dependent fluorescence enhancement in the DMPC-DMPG liposome model membrane system, a phenomenon arising from the slow dissolution of colloidal aggregates into the lipid bilayer[3].
Coppersensor-3 (CS3) (2 μM; 10 min) can be used to determine that CTR1 is required for bacterial infection-induced cytosolic copper accumulation[4].
