Molecular glues are a class of protein degraders based on the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Molecular glues are a class of small-molecule compounds capable of inducing or stabilizing protein-protein interactions. If one of the proteins is a ubiquitin ligase, molecular glues can cause the other protein to undergo ubiquitin modification and degradation via the proteasome pathway, similar to PROTACs. However, in subsequent classification, these molecules are categorized as functional molecules that serve as ligands for E3 ligases.
