GABA-T ASO

GABA-T ASO is an antisense oligodeoxynucleotide targeting GABA-transaminase (GABA-T) mRNA, which blocks GABA-T synthesis and elevates GABA levels. GABA-T ASO is complementary to the translation initiation codon region. GABA-T ASO exerts a protective effect against psychostimulant-induced convulsions. GABA-T ASO prevents pentylenetetrazol-induced convulsions. GABA-T ASO can be used for research on convulsions.

In Vivo

GABA-T ASO (0.288-1.44 nM; i.c.v.; single administration; 15 hours before challenge) prevents stimulant-induced seizures in mice, but is ineffective when administered 8 or 36 hours before challenge^[1].
GABA-T ASO (7.2 nM; i.c.v.; single administration; 15 hours before PTZ) prevents pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures in mice^[1].

Result:
