HS024
Based on 1 publication(s) in Google Scholar
HS024 is a peptide antagonist of melanocortin receptors with high affinity for the human melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R). HS024 blocks α-MSH (HY-P0252)-induced cAMP accumulation and MC4 receptor signaling. HS024 induces dose-dependent feeding stimulation without affecting anxiety-related behavior or locomotor activity. HS024 can be used in research related to MC4 receptor-mediated diseases, such as eating disorders.

In Vivo
HS024 (0.02-0.1 nmol; i.c.v.; single injection 20 min before testing) does not alter exploratory/locomotor activity in the elevated plus maze or open field[1].

Animal Model:Wistar (adult male, 330-380 g at time of surgery)[1]
-
Dosage:0.1 nmol, 0.3 nmol, 1.0 nmol
-
Administration:i.c.v.; single injection per test day; repeated every third day in randomized order
-
Result:Produced dose‑dependent orexigenic effects following intracerebroventricular administration.
Exhibited delayed onset: only 1 nmol stimulated food intake at 1 h; all doses elevated intake from 2‑4 h.
Achieved maximal 4‑fold feeding stimulation at 1 nmol, with 6‑8 g food consumed by rats within 4 h.
Triggered dose‑dependent food spillage, significant at 0.33 nmol and 1.0 nmol.
Showed no significant alteration in % spillage/CFI ratio.

Animal Model:Wistar (adult male, 330-380 g at time of surgery)[1]
-
Dosage:0.02 nmol, 0.1 nmol
-
Administration:i.c.v.; single injection 20 min before elevated plus-maze/open-field testing
-
Result:Detected no overall anxiety‑related behavioral differences versus saline at 0.02 nmol and 0.1 nmol.
Observed comparable horizontal‑vertical open‑field locomotion across both doses.
Noted higher fecal‑boli counts solely for 0.02 nmol in elevated‑plus‑maze testing.
Found unaltered fecal‑boli output in open‑field assay for both doses.
