Ibuprofen arginine
Ibuprofen arginine is an orally active L-arginine salt of Ibuprofen (HY-78131). Ibuprofen arginine inhibits COX-2-dependent PGE2 production, inhibits iNOS and NOX-2, and reduces pro-inflammatory mediators, nitrite, ROS, oxidative stress, and cytokine secretion. Ibuprofen arginine inhibits ERK1/2 and STAT3 phosphorylation and attenuates M1 polarization. Ibuprofen arginine can serve as a substrate to provide L-arginine to support iNOS-mediated nitrite production and eNOS-mediated NO release, reversing NOS inhibitor-induced dysfunction and L-NAME (HY-18729)-induced contraction. Ibuprofen arginine alleviates joint inflammation and has antibacterial activity. Ibuprofen arginine can be used in research on inflammation-related diseases and pain.

In Vivo
Ibuprofen arginine (114.8 mmol/kg; administered i.v. via the femoral vein; given as a single dose after the L-NAME pressor response is established) reverses the established L-NAME-induced pressor response in anesthetized male Wistar Kyoto rats[2].
