Chemical Structure
Propanil
- CAS No.: 709-98-8
- Formula:C9H9Cl2NO
- Molecular Weight:218.08
IUPAC Name: N-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)propionamide
InChIKey: LFULEKSKNZEWOE-UHFFFAOYSA-N
SMILES: C(NC1=CC=C(Cl)C(Cl)=C1)(=O)CC
Biological Activity: Propanil is an orally active immunotoxic Herbicide. Propanil causes delayed and sustained loss of CTL lytic function, as well as irreversible impairment of secondary/tertiary CTL responses. Propanil inhibits PHA-induced increases in IL-10, IFN-gamma, IL-2, and intracellular calcium, as well as anti-CD3-induced IL-10 and IFN-gamma release. Propanil induces splenomegaly, thymic atrophy, bone marrow toxicity, and hemoglobin oxidation. Propanil can be used in research on methemoglobinemia and anemia, as well as liver injury[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9].
