Ramipril (HOE-498) is an orally active angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor with blood-brain barrier permeability, and it is metabolized in vivo to the active metabolite Ramiprilat (HY-A0115). Ramipril has antioxidant, vasoprotective, and anti-atherosclerotic effects.
